Drinking, although very common all over the world is actually not a very fascinating idea from a health point of view and can have long-lasting damages to the functionality of the body. Most of these damages are not instantly visible and as one age out, their effects become evident. Alcohol is a depressant and comprises mainly ethyl alcohol. The effect has on the human body is such that it tends to slow down the body’s reactions and numb out the brain and the nervous system. Its effect is so intense that even a glass of it severely dampens the mind, causes thinking to become unclear and excessive consumption of it makes people pass out.
The causes of alcoholism are debatable. Some do it out of depression and loneliness. Others do it habitually and some do it under peer pressure. In the younger generation, peer pressure and the want to look cool and stand out among the crowd are the major reasons for alcoholism.
The damages of alcohol are numerous. Consumption of it damages the nervous system and as a result, the heartbeat gets abnormal as well which causes a rise in blood pressure. It poses a threat to all the vital organs and their functions like the liver, kidneys, etc.
Alcohol users find pleasure in its usage but the fact remains that using something for pleasure that completely disorients the body and mind is never a good option. Today many people drink and they never think any bad can happen to them due to it as many others are happily doing it as well, but the fact remains that you can be the severely affected one too.
